Guest Room Must-Haves

Whether you’re hosting friends for the weekend or family for the holidays, creating a warm and inviting guest room can make all of the difference to how your guests feel when they stay at your home.
A guest room shouldn’t just be another place for people to sleep. It should say “we’re glad that you’re here.”
From cosy bedding to thoughtful amenities, here is my list of the top essential elements that transform an ordinary spare room into a welcoming space.
Comfortable Bedding
Start with a foundation of any guest room, the bed.
A comfortable mattress is essential, if and if your budget allows for it, I really recommend spending a little extra on the mattress and finding some high-quality sheets.
Investing in this will ensure that your guests have the best night's sleep of their lives.

Nightstand Essentials
A nightstand office is more than just a place for guests to put their phone down.
You can style it with function in mind. Consider including a reading lamp, an alarm clock and even a bottle of water. These small touches add an element of luxury and thoughtfulness to any guest room.

Closet & Storage Space
It's unlikely that your guests will need a full dresser; however, having some storage space where they can place their clothes whilst they are staying at your house is important.
Even just a small set of drawers or some hooks on the wall both go such a long way.

A Welcome Tray
Why not go all out and add welcome tray to your guest room?
It’s a small thing that makes your guests feel pampered. You can include things such as a travel-size toiletries, your Wi-Fi password, and some snacks.

Mirrors
Don’t forget the mirror! Whether it's for a quick touch-up or getting dressed, a mirror is a must.
If space allows, install a full-length mirror; if not, a stylish wall mirror above the dresser or on the closet door will do the trick.

Scent
A scent is often an overlooked detail but it can enhance the entire experience.
Choose a neutral calming scent such as lavender, sandalwood, or vanilla to create a cozy atmosphere without overdoing it.
